If you want to operate a wholesale or retail business with firearms or ammunition, you need a firearms trade permit. In addition, you must register your trade.
The permit must be applied for informally in writing. It can be granted to an individual (sole proprietorship) or a corporation. In the case of a partnership, the individual personally liable partners each receive a permit.
The permit can only be granted if the applicant is reliable and personally suitable and can demonstrate the necessary expertise for the arms trade.With regard to reliability, the licensing authority checks, among other things, the existence of previous convictions and conspicuous acts of violence. Persons lack personal suitability if facts justify the assumption that they are legally incompetent, dependent on alcohol or other intoxicating substances, mentally ill or debilitated, or unable to handle weapons or ammunition carefully or appropriately due to personal circumstances. If necessary, the authorities will carry out investigations in this regard.
