Network invites to summer cinema on 26 and 27 August

The Network for Tolerance Waldeck-Frankenberg invites all cinema fans to the Open Air Cinema at Strandhaus No. 10 in Waldeck-West on 26 August. The award-winning film "Nomadland" will be shown at 8:30 pm. One day later, on 27 August, the current film "Unter den Sternen von Paris" will also be shown at 8:30 p.m. on the village square in Vöhl-Obernburg; here the Network for Tolerance is working together with the association "Vöhl-Obernburg aktiv".

"Nomadland" (26 August 2021, 8:30 p.m., Strandhaus No. 10 Waldeck-West) shows the story of a US-American woman who, after several strokes of fate, sets out to move across the USA as a modern working nomad. 60-year-old Fern travels in her van, which becomes her home and place of retreat. On her way between laundromats and various odd jobs, Fern repeatedly meets people who have experienced a fate similar to hers. The film draws a sensitive and very human portrait of a us subculture and of people who are forced to live freedom and the American dream beyond luxury and wealth.

"Under the Stars of Paris" (27 August 2021, 8:30 pm, Dorfplatz Vöhl-Obernburg) tells the story of Suli and Christine, both homeless in Paris. He, a coloured boy who doesn't speak French - she, a hardened woman. When their paths cross, they both begin to wander the streets and life together. In her search for Suli's mother, the bitter Christine gets to know a warm-hearted and friendly world that was previously denied to her.

The "Tolerant Film Summer" is being held as part of the Hesse Summer Wander Cinema in cooperation with the Willingen cinema.
