Centre opens: District informs about vaccination procedure

For a few days now, people in the first prioritisation group have been able to register for vaccination against the coronavirus in Korbach online and by telephone via the state of Hesse. At the vaccination centre on the Hauer, the serum will initially be administered in two vaccination lines from Tuesday. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg provides information about the vaccination procedure.

For example, people who have been given a vaccination appointment in Korbach by the state of Hesse are asked to come to the vaccination centre in good time but not excessively early, in order to avoid queues of people waiting in front of the entrance to the large sports hall on the Hauer. Arriving five minutes before the appointment is sufficient. There is plenty of parking space available.

In the entrance area, you should have the relevant documents ready - such as your health insurance card, your identity card and the information you received from the state of Hesse when you registered for the vaccination appointment. Everything is checked once at the entrance. It will not be possible to enter the centre without a confirmed vaccination appointment. Fever will also be measured directly at the entrance. For reasons of infection control, at least one medical mask, preferably an FFP2 mask, must be worn in the entire vaccination centre.

After the admission control, the vaccinees are guided via a barrier-free access to the terminals where the registration of the persons to be vaccinated takes place. Here, the documents are checked again, the health insurance card is scanned and an initial entry is made in the system. Information, medical history and consent forms should already be completed. From the registration desk, the patient moves on to two waiting areas - either one without medical advice or another for people who would like to clarify any unanswered questions before the vaccination. The staff of the vaccination centre will then pick up the vaccinees for the medical consultation, after which the vaccination itself will take place in separate vaccination booths.

After the administration of the injection, another waiting area is available at the end of the vaccination lanes where those vaccinated hand in their documents for deregistration. This is also where the final registration and printout of the vaccination certificate takes place. In addition, those vaccinated can and should linger there for a moment to make sure they are tolerating the vaccination well. Medical staff is also available here at any time for questions and problems. Once they have checked out at the sign-out terminal, the vaccinees can leave the centre via an exit at the back of the large sports hall towards Karpatenstraße.

Since the first phase of the vaccinations mainly involves people over 80 years of age, it is possible for impaired people to be accompanied by relatives to the centre for vaccination - but only until registration. Accompanying persons can stay in a separate waiting area while the vaccinated persons are being vaccinated and then receive their relatives again at the exit and accompany them out.

It is again pointed out that the applicable distance and hygiene rules must be observed throughout the vaccination centre. People who have been given an appointment for vaccination but feel ill on the day of vaccination are asked to stay at home and make a new appointment via the hotline or the website of the State of Hesse.

At an interval of three weeks, the second injection must be administered for the vaccination protection to be fully effective. The second vaccination must always also be received at the location where the first took place. It is not possible to change appointments between the first and second vaccination to another location.

Senior citizens aged 80 and over who do not live in a retirement or nursing home can still register for vaccination at the Korbach vaccination centre. The state of Hesse has specified that registration is possible in two ways:

By telephone via Tel. 0611 505 92 888 or Tel. 116 117

or

online at www.impfterminservice.hessen.de or www.impfterminservice.de

The State of Hesse emphasises that both ways lead equally to appointments. However, after overloading the call centres and the online portal, it asks for patience, as not all people can use the appointment service at the same time. Appointment through these two channels is meant for those over 80 years of age. Professional groups in the first prioritisation group, such as employees of clinics and nursing services, will be informed separately by the district as before.

District Administrator Dr. Kubat and First District Councillor Frese see the start of vaccinations and the commissioning of the vaccination centre in Korbach as an important step in combating the pandemic: "It is true that the doses available for Waldeck-Frankenberg for the time being are not yet sufficient for the start of mass immunisation. But we assume that we will be able to vaccinate a large number of members of the prioritised groups with them." It is hoped that through increased production capacities of the already approved vaccines and through the approval of further serums, the available quantity of vaccine doses can soon be noticeably increased, so that the immunisation of the population will make significant progress by the summer.
