Guided tours in the GrenzWelten Geopark again from 14 June

Good news for all geology enthusiasts: Having reached relaxation stage 2 in the two-stage plan of the state of Hesse, the GrenzWelten National Geopark can also hold events again. The guided tour programme will start on 14 June 2021, subject to a protection and hygiene concept. An annual overview of the guided tours, but also of other events, is provided in the calendar of events, which is now available at various public places. The calendar can also be obtained from the Geopark project office, by telephone or e-mail, and is available for digital download on the Geopark homepage.

Like last year, the first guided tours in March, April and May had to be cancelled due to the Corona Protection Orders. Due to the decreasing incidences, the 2021 tour season can now finally begin. The comprehensive hygiene concept of GrenzWelten was developed in consultation with the public health department and now the Geopark guides are allowed to start their programme from 14 June.

"The year 2021 has put us to the test again so far - everything stood still for a good six months, even in the Geopark's event area. We are all the more pleased that we can finally get started and offer visitors to our GrenzWelten attractive leisure activities in the region," says Kim Peis from the Geopark project office. The calendar of events in the new look - as a handy, compact, foldable card format, suitable for every pocket to take along - shows the offers at a glance. If you are looking for more information about the guided tours, you can find it on the Geopark homepage or from the respective Geopark guides.

Of course, the current Corona rules are observed for the Geopark events. Thus, the number of participants is still limited and registration for the guided tours is absolutely necessary. As with everything, the following also applies: The relaxation measures are tied to the incidences and can be subject to change at any time. The complete protection and hygiene concept is shown on the Geopark homepage and can be downloaded. If you have any further questions, please contact the project office or the Geopark guides.
