District says thank you: celebration for helpers at the vaccination centre

Around 1,000 people were active at the vaccination centre in Korbach. Many of these helpers have been in constant action since February and have thus made a very large contribution to the fight against the pandemic. In the process, they have also left a very good impression on the population. Almost every day, the management of the vaccination centre received positive feedback from the freshly vaccinated people and their companions. Last Friday, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg thanked all the helpers with a celebration in the location, which is now once again designated as a sports hall.

Whether the staff in check-in, check-out or in the vaccination line, the doctors, vaccinators, the helpers from the pharmacy, the people from security or the paramedics, each of them was important to keep the vaccination centre at Korbacher Hauer running and to vaccinate the people streaming in. "It has been a great pleasure to run this vaccination centre and I am proud of what we have done here every day. From the car park attendants to the porter at the exit door, everyone at the vaccination centre had one goal, to get the vaccine doses to the people," said Gerhard Biederbick in his speech last Friday.

And in the process, he and his deputy Bernd Berghöfer constantly received positive feedback from the population: friendly, helpful and committed, and often with over 1,000 vaccinations a day. "We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the helpers and especially to the soldiers of the German Armed Forces who kept our vaccination centre running day in, day out," said First District Commissioner Karl-Friedrich Frese. "Since the first Corona case occurred in our district, the staff of the Health Department have been doing a great job. They have also been a constant and important partner in the vaccination centre, handling the organisational tasks together with the emergency services, fire and disaster control. We would also like to express our gratitude to these specialised services and the many other people who helped with this major project," added the first district councillor. To further express its gratitude, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg invited all the helpers of the vaccination centre and the Corona call centre to the sports hall and to the Korbacher Hauer. The approximately 400 vaccinated or recovered helpers celebrated their work of the past months to the music of the Kassel Army Music Corps.

From the day of opening to the day of closing, 121,538 vaccinations were administered in the vaccination centre in Korbach and by the mobile teams. Together with the general practitioners, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg has a vaccination rate of 66.7 % (as of 5 October). This rate puts the district in the top range of all districts and independent cities in Hesse.
