Think, learn and forget: Seminar on 18 September

The Women's Office of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district invites all interested women to a one-day seminar at the sports, nature and adventure camp in Breitenbachtal near Vöhl-Harbshausen on Saturday, 18 September 2021, in compliance with the current Corona rules. In cooperation with the Büro für Staatsbürgerliche Frauenarbeit e. V. (Office for Civic Women's Work), the seminar from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. is entitled "Thinking, Learning and Forgetting - How Do Learning Processes Work in the Human Brain?". The speaker is Andrea Emig from Wiesbaden, IT trainer and coach. The participation fee of 55 euros includes lunch.

We not only forget, we twist, distort and deform our memories. We confuse who told us what, when and how. We remember experiences that never happened. But what can we do to keep the error rate of our memory as low as possible and its performance as high as possible? In the seminar, the participants will learn, among other things, with the help of individual exercises, how memorising and remembering work, why we forget or when the memory blocks. The speaker will explore the questions of why there is rarely any truth, why memories are deceptive, what is meant by social and collective memory, and whether we can train our memory. The event is aimed at interested women who would like to learn how memory processes take place in the human brain. Registration for the seminar is possible until 15 September 2021 at the district's women's office, tel. 05631 954-318 or e-mail ute.hetzler@lkwafkb.de. Further information is also available there.
