Ecomodel regions plan online seminar on 5 April

Practical knowledge on animal welfare and sustainable livestock farming will be imparted at an online seminar on 5 April, jointly offered by the eco-model regions of the Waldeck-Frankenberg and Marburg-Biedenkopf districts.

Veterinarian Dr Andrea Fiedler uses many pictures and video sequences to show why cattle can have hoof problems. Why and how lame animals are identified on the farm helps to uncover the causes. Tips are given on documentation, the most common tools and the correct implementation of functional hoof care. Close observation of all animals, regular hoof care and early detection and treatment contribute significantly to animal welfare - this applies equally to dairy cows and suckler cows in the barn and on pasture. The focus will be on the most important therapeutic and prophylactic measures on the hoof, but also in the husbandry environment. The event will take place online on Tuesday, 5 April at 7 pm. Registrations are accepted by e-mail to andreas.Althoff@lkwafkb.de or ZickD@marburg-biedenkopf.de.
