Hessian Organic Days: Actions also in Waldeck-Frankenberg

Last year they had their premiere and were so successful that they will be repeated this year: the state-wide Hessian BioDays from 16 - 25 September. In this context, several events will also be held in the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg. The events were planned and organised by the Waldeck-Frankenberg eco-model region, which is part of the district administration's agriculture department, in cooperation with agricultural enterprises.

The Hessian eco-model regions are looking for ways to meet the increasing demand for organically produced food from local agriculture and to raise consumer awareness of regional cycles and organically produced food. As contact partners for farmers, regional producers, processors and retailers, they are part of the Hessian action plan.

"Experience agriculture up close" is the motto of this year's Hessian BioDays, with intensive insights into what modern agriculture looks like. No Bullerbü, no purple cows, but real farmers who answer all the questions that have always been on consumers' minds - from species-appropriate husbandry in practice to crop rotation or simply why you shouldn't let your dog run free across cultivated fields. On the participating farms you can gain exciting insights beyond your own nose and make new experiences.

In the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg there are the following events at the Hessian Organic Days:

  • Introductory event "Agroforest" followed by a guided tour on vegetable cultivation and solidarity farming at the Falkenhof in Korbach-Strothe on 17 September from 9 am - 2 pm,
  • Guided farm tours at the Demeter farm Gut Kappel in Bad Arolsen on 17 and 24 September from 2 - 6 pm,
  • "Open Farm Day" at the Storke organic farm in Korbach-Eppe on 24 and 25 September from 10 am - 6 pm.

Further details on the events will be published in due time.
