County organises family challenge for nature artworks

The district invites all families to take part in a very special competition: to create works of art from nature and in nature.

The Sports and Youth Work Department of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district invites all families to take part in a very special challenge (task): to create works of art from nature and in nature. Every family that takes part has the chance to receive one of five "family packages" - the prizes will be drawn among all participants. The content of the family package is a surprise, but there will definitely be something for every family member.

Experience nature together and create art - this is the motto of this year's family challenge of the district youth work. "LandArt" is created from natural materials - everything that can be found in nature can be used for this. Whether stones, leaves, twigs or moss, there are many ways to realise your own ideas in LandArt. And very important: there is no right or wrong. The focus is on the fun of being creative in the fresh air and creating something with the materials that nature provides.

There are no requirements, the sports and youth work department only asks that a few things be observed:

  • Nature should be disturbed as little as possible by the LandArt artworks, so please use mainly inanimate materials.
  • If living parts of plants are used, such as flowers, thorns or moss, please only use as much as is actually needed for the artwork.
  • Never use rare or protected plants.
  • Protected areas and sensitive habitats should be respected at all costs.

It's easy for families to take part - create a work of art in nature, take a photo (please create a high-resolution image of at least 1 MB and no more than 5 MB) and send it to the e-mail address jugendarbeit@lkwafkb.de by 31 March 2022. The team of the Department of Sport and Youth Work is looking forward to receiving creative submissions.
