Youth Employment Agency organises expert day

The Schwalm-Eder and Waldeck-Frankenberg Youth Employment Agency supports young people aged 14-27 on their career path. "No young person should be lost!" is the guiding principle of the joint action of the partners Schwalm-Eder district, Waldeck-Frankenberg district, the state education authority, the employment agency and the Schwalm-Eder and Waldeck-Frankenberg job centres. The support offered by the Youth Employment Agency is open and free of charge to all young people and their relatives in both districts.

After two years of forced break due to the Corona pandemic, the Youth Employment Agency was finally able to hold a joint expert day in Presence again. In the run-up to the expert day, exchange meetings of experts from the areas of career counselling, U25 placement, school social work, the social services of the youth welfare offices, the project "Strengthening Youth in the Neighbourhood" and teachers took place within the two districts. Topics from the individual regions were collected and prepared for the expert day.

At the symposium in the Wandelhalle Bad Wildungen, the staff of the network partners shed light on the current challenges in their daily work with young people. It was reported from both districts that a large number of young people have been left behind by the Corona pandemic and will have little chance of making a successful transition from school to work without additional support. But how can they be reached, motivated, accompanied and supported by the professionals? And how can the cooperation in the network be further optimised?

These and other questions shaped the exchange at the symposium. In working groups, the available support services of all partners were examined and ways were made visible how the cooperation partners can jointly master the challenges ahead. The participants agreed that there is a good and extensive offer of help in both districts, but that agreements and cooperation between the cooperation partners are important so that the situation of the young people can be responded to individually with tailor-made help.
