Forest walk of the self-help centre on 10 August

Under the motto "Self-help gets moving", the self-help centre's forest walk is now well established. On 31 May, it successfully started the 2022 season and will now also take place once during the summer holidays, on 10 August, for all those who stayed at home. The aim is to network people from the self-help sector, to make new contacts and to inform interested people about the possibilities and opportunities of self-help work.

During the tour through the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, there will be several stops where information about self-help work in connection with nature therapy will be provided. "We would also like to report on the positive effects of exercise for self-help during the walk," say Heike Eschler and Kristin Schmidt-Momberg from the self-help contact point. All interested parties are cordially invited to the forest walk. The "contact point dog" of Heike Eschler, who works as a nature therapist and brings in elements from it, will also be along for the leisurely walk. New impulses for the work of the self-help groups can then be taken away from what has been learned.

The distance of the slow walk is about 3.5 kilometres and is easily manageable in about two and a half hours with the stops in between. The walk is suitable for all walkers. Participants are only asked to wear sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the weather, and to bring mouth and nose protection. Those suffering from cold symptoms are asked to refrain from participating in the interest of the health of their fellow human beings. All forest walkers will be given a seat cushion or scarf and a rucksack bag with the logo of the Self-Help Contact Point.

The tour starts on Wednesday, 10 August 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the "Trappenhardt" hikers' car park at the Vöhl-Basdorf sports field. The exact location description will be sent to the participants with the registration confirmation. As the number of participants is limited to 12, registration is requested by 8 August 2022 , by telephone on 05631 954-888 or in writing at e-mail shk@lkwafkb.de. Further dates for the forest walk are being planned and will be announced shortly.
