Workshop of the Self-Help Contact Point on Public Relations on 5 July

In a self-help group, people meet who suffer from a similar problem, illness or disability. The self-help contact point of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district supports the groups in the district in their work. "Self-help is an important pillar of the German health system," emphasises Heike Eschler, who coordinates the contact point. Moreover, self-help effectively complements the professional work of doctors and therapists.

In order to announce dates, inform the population about the specific topic of the group as well as about their activities, self-help groups often use the local media for their public relations work. The Self-Help Contact Point is therefore offering a free workshop on this topic on 5 July 2022: "Designing public relations effectively", from 2 - 5 p.m. in the Korbach District House, Südring 2. All interested parties are cordially invited to attend.

Public relations is important to show others what the support group does and how it works - but it is more than just getting an event in the newspaper. In the workshop, participants learn about different ways of public relations and can develop their own strategy that suits their group. An experienced journalist will provide tips, strategies and tools for targeted public relations work for the self-help group, for appropriate communication and for writing press releases. The participants will also get to know the specific view and working methods of an editor.

Registrations for the workshop are accepted by the Self-Help Contact Point until 30 June 2022 under the telephone number 05631 954-888 or the e-mail address shk@lkwafkb.de. Further questions about the event on 5 July or about self-help in general will also be answered at these contact details.
