"Talking helps me!" - Self-help contact point reissues guidebook

The new, updated self-help guide is now available. Under the motto "Talking helps me!", the brochure offers an overview of the self-help groups existing in the district, divided into the four subject areas "Chronic illnesses", "Mental problems", "Addiction" and "Special life situations". The overview is supplemented by background information on self-help.

First District Councillor and Head of Health Karl-Friedrich Frese emphasises in his foreword: "Self-help groups contribute to comprehensive care for citizens." In many cases, he says, participation in a self-help group is the right way to cope with a new life situation. Frese thanks all those involved in self-help for making this special contribution and for standing up for others.

The self-help guide can be requested free of charge from the Waldeck-Frankenberg Self-Help Contact Point by calling 05631 954-888 or emailing shk@lkwafkb.de. In addition, the brochure is distributed to the local health and social services institutions as well as the towns and municipalities for passing on. The staff of the Self-Help Contact Point can provide information on the facilities where the guide is available and are also available to answer further questions on self-help.
