State of Hesse honours social commitment of citizens

The Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration would like to point out that this year the state award "Social Civic Commitment" will again be presented for special voluntary and civic commitment in the social sector. This is the 20th time that people who help shape our society with special commitment will be honoured. The district hopes for a large number of nominations from Waldeck-Frankenberg.

Individuals as well as groups can be nominated for the state award - nominations can be made by associations, churches, initiatives, volunteer agencies, senior citizens' offices, youth organisations, self-help contact points and all other organisations of social civic engagement as well as municipalities. Examples of outstanding achievements that can be honoured are

  • the development of new initiatives that are desirable to emulate,
  • Promoting integration in the communal, associational, ecclesiastical or
    neighbourhood sphere,
  • awakening the willingness of children and young people to get involved,
  • Activation of help for self-help in the area of families and senior citizens or
  • the development of local support structures.

Proposals can only be made online; a corresponding form is available. The online form can be found at www.hsm.hessen.de in the "Family & Social Affairs" section under "Volunteering and Voluntary Service". The closing date for applications is 15 September 2022. Any queries will be dealt with by LAGFA Hessen e.V. - Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Freiwilligenagenturen in Hessen e. V., Domstraße 81, 63067 Offenbach, e-mail: landesauszeichnung@lagfa-hessen.de. Minister of State Kai Klose will present the award for "Social Civic Engagement" in person in Wiesbaden on 14 December 2022.
