STADTRADELN: Cycle many kilometres from 13 June to 3 July

Do something good for your health and the environment: Everyone who likes cycling or has resolved to cycle more in future is cordially invited to take part in the nationwide STADTRADELN competition under the umbrella of the district from 13 June to 3 July. The goal is to cycle as many kilometres as possible during the campaign period, record them with the app - and win great prizes. You can now register for the 21-day event.

Cycle and win
For the first time, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is also taking part in the international campaign of the Climate Alliance: Interested parties can register for the campaign under the umbrella of the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg. Whether it's the way to work, the trip to the shops or to the gym, or the bike tour at the weekend: Your kilometres travelled by bike will then be counted for the district. Attractive prizes in different categories await those who pedal the most at the end.

Interested parties can now register online for the competition - as an individual or in a team. The district has compiled all the information on its website at www.landkreis-waldeck-frankenberg.de/stadtradeln. For practical use, you can also download the STADTRADELN app onto your smartphone - and use it to record the kilometres cycled directly and have them credited to your team. And: At the same time, you help to improve the cycling infrastructure on your own doorstep. If you don't have the internet, you can also record your kilometres by hand and hand them in to the district. You can request the registration form by calling Nicole Sude at 05631-954 412.

Doing something good for the climate and health
"In the end, all cyclists not only do something good for themselves and their health, but also for the climate and their fellow human beings. Therefore, get on your bike and join in!", call District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst and First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese to participate in the campaign, in which the municipalities of Bad Arolsen, Diemelsee, Frankenberg (Eder), Gemünden (Wohra), Hatzfeld (Eder), Korbach, Lichtenfels, Rosenthal, Twistetal, Volkmarsen, Waldeck and Willingen are taking part in addition to the district.

Cycling has high priority
"For several years now, the district has been committed to promoting cycling in Waldeck-Frankenberg in order to secure the quality of living and life in the district and to promote sustainable mobility," explains Jürgen van der Horst. "The goal is to further develop the attractiveness and performance of cycling. Whether it's everyday cycling, safe and fast cycle paths for schoolchildren or the STADTRADELN. We are involved in various areas," adds Karl-Friedrich Frese.

Report dangerous spots online
During the campaign period, the municipalities of Bad Arolsen, Diemelsee, Lichtenfels Frankenberg (Eder) and Waldeck are also offering all cyclists the opportunity to report annoying or dangerous spots in the cycle path online. At www.radar-online.net you can report the defects by placing a pin on the digital road map. The responsible administration will then be informed automatically.

STADTRADELN
With its international STADTRADELN competition, Climate Alliance invites all people in Germany to pedal together and set an example for increased cycling promotion. In teams, they are to collect as many bicycle kilometres as possible for their community on 21 consecutive days between May and September. The aim is to raise awareness of cycling in everyday life and to bring the issues of bicycle use and cycling planning more strongly into local parliaments.

The Climate Alliance
For more than 30 years, Climate Alliance member municipalities have been working with their indigenous rainforest partners to protect the world's climate. With almost 2,000 members from more than 25 European countries, the Climate Alliance is the world's largest network of cities dedicated to climate protection.

State of Hesse
The State of Hesse assumes the participation costs in STADTRADELN for all Hessian municipalities and districts. The objective of the campaign corresponds to the goals of the state-wide local mobility promotion. The ADFC Hessen also supports the campaign.
