Last parents' café in 2022 in the Korbach and Frankenberg libraries

Within the action programme "Catching up with Corona", parent cafés with reading aloud will be held for the last time this year on 12 and 13 December in the Korbach and Frankenberg libraries.

As part of the action programme "Catching up with Corona", parent cafés with reading aloud will be held for the last time this year on 12 and 13 December 2022 in the municipal libraries of Korbach and Frankenberg. The offer by the Youth Service of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district with the Early Help Department is aimed at parents with small children, mainly from birth to 3 years of age; siblings are also welcome. "Catching up with Corona" is a support programme of the Federal Early Help Foundation, funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

At the parent cafés in cooperation with the two public libraries, the currently valid Corona rules are observed. A child-friendly environment and support from library staff as well as an educational specialist offer the best conditions for all visitors to the parents' café to spend a few pleasant hours in the public libraries. Parents can look forward to interesting and stimulating read-alouds and can go on a journey of discovery into the world of books together with their child. In addition, parents and children can borrow so-called explorer backpacks, which are filled with age-appropriate picture books, read-aloud books, a hand puppet, a radio play and a Tonie figure, for example.

At the event on Monday, 12 December, 4 p.m. in Korbach and on Tuesday, 13 December, 9 a.m. in Frankenberg, the clown Ugolino will be a guest in the public libraries with his pre-Christmas children's theatre "Emma's Christmas Star". He will be accompanied by his guitar and an Advent calendar in which gnomes and goblins live, Christmas sock puppet Knurps with mischief on his mind and hand puppet Emma will also be there. Together they rescue a crashed Christmas star and sing and dance with the children in the public libraries.

As there is only a limited number of participants in the parent cafés with reading aloud, registration is required by 6 December 2022 :

  • for the event in Korbach at e-mail stadtbuecherei@korbach.de for 12 December 2022 at 4 pm.
  • for the event in Frankenberg at e-mail buecherei@frankenberg.de for 13 December 2022 at 9 am.

Participation is free of charge.
