Carers needed to accompany the youth camps

This year, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is again offering training to become a supervisor in compliance with the current Corona rules; registration is possible until 19 January . This basic pedagogical training qualifies interested persons to lead, accompany and supervise camps with children and young people on their own responsibility. After successful completion of the training, the graduates will be scheduled for youth camps in the district.

Those who are interested are given the opportunity to check in a practical way whether a job as a caregiver suits them. "Pupils, trainees, students, but also professionals are represented among our supervisors. Their commitment makes the camps exciting and eventful. We are happy that every year new potential supervisors show interest in the voluntary work," says Ines Normann from the youth promotion of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district.

"Besides teaching important contents and preparing for the assignment as a supervisor, the training is like a class reunion. You can exchange ideas with supervisors who have become friends in the meantime and you have the opportunity to meet new people," reports one supervisor.

For their work, the supervisors receive an expense allowance, reimbursement of travel expenses and free board and lodging during their free time. The activity can be credited as an internship. Time off for voluntary work in youth work is possible. The training for supervisors will take place from 3 - 5 February 2023 and from 12 - 14 May 2023. Another date will be determined individually by the recreation teams.

Registrations are accepted by the Waldeck-Frankenberg district youth promotion office at ines.normann@lkwafkb.de or by phone 05631 954-493. They can also provide further information on the training and work of counsellors.
