Parents' café with reading programme in the Korbach public library

The first parents' café with reading aloud in 2024 will take place on Monday, 15 January at 4 p.m. in the Korbach public library. The offer from the Youth Service of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district with the Early Help department was established as part of the expired "Catching up after Corona" action programme and will continue to be carried out in cooperation with the city of Korbach. It is aimed at parents with small children, primarily from birth to 3 years of age; siblings are also very welcome.

The parents' café in cooperation with the public library takes place in a child-friendly environment and is accompanied by library staff and a volunteer reading aloud specialist - the best conditions for all visitors to the parents' café to spend pleasant hours in the public library. Parents can look forward to interesting and inspiring read-alouds and can go on a journey of discovery into the world of books together with their child. Parents and children can also borrow so-called explorer rucksacks, which are filled with age-appropriate picture books, read-aloud books, a hand puppet, a radio play and a Tonie figure, for example.

There is only a limited number of participants for the parents' café with reading offer, so registration is required by email at stadtbuecherei@korbach.de by 8 January 2024. Participation is free of charge.
