Presentation technology and equipment
Presentation technology and equipment
In the coming years, the district will equip more than 1,100 rooms with presentation technology such as interactive boards, beamers or displays with tablets as part of the Digital Pact. Around 600 classrooms will get new media pillars and the already existing media pillars will be upgraded to the latest standards.
End devices for pupils
The aim of the Digital Pact is to create the conditions for the wireless use of presentation technology in classrooms. The purchase of tablets for every pupil is not part of this. In the digital school, a tablet can be part of the basic school equipment - similar to school bags, notebooks and pens. This depends on the pedagogical concept of each individual school. The WLAN is set up in the schools in such a way that everyone can immediately start surfing with their own device. Financially weaker families can get social support to buy a tablet for their child. And: Schools also usually have a small number available that can be borrowed for lessons.
End devices for teachers
The teachers have their tablets or notebooks financed by the state of Hesse. This is because the teachers are employees of the state. They were handed out to the teachers via the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg, which acted as a messenger. But: For maintenance and support, the installation of apps and all software questions, the technology service provider of the state of Hesse is the right contact.
Media pillars
In order to be able to optimally use the presentation technology in the classrooms, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is converting 762 media pillars - i.e. cable, power and data distributors - to a uniform standard in the coming years. In addition, new media pillars will be built in 599 rooms. The pillars are the prerequisite for functioning presentation technology, as they connect the devices and screens with the wired infrastructure - and thus make wireless transmission possible.
Presentation technology
Digital teaching is already possible almost everywhere in the secondary schools in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. By 2025, all schools in Waldeck-Frankenberg will be equipped with wireless presentation technology - exactly according to the individual wishes of each school. There will then be a large screen in every classroom that can be connected to the tablets - allowing all learning materials to be displayed on the front of the screen. Similar to the good old blackboard - but much more interactive.
