Climate-neutral Waldeck-Frankenberg

As a founding member and with District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst as patron, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg supports the activities of the "Climate Neutral Waldeck-Frankenberg" association - and works closely with it to achieve the common goal of "Climate Neutrality 2035" and secure it in the long term.

The purpose of the association is to promote nature conservation and environmental protection in Waldeck-Frankenberg. In its activities, the association intends to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions through exchange and information formats as well as targeted support services and regional projects and thus to advocate for climate protection in the district. Trade, business and industrial companies are addressed to the same extent as administrations, associations, non-profit companies or citizens.

There is regular exchange and knowledge transfer between the representatives of the association and the district, as well as joint project work. The association and the district each represent the link and mouthpiece for the various actors from cities and municipalities, initiatives, associations and partners from industry and business, which are characterised by their bundling of different competences and perspectives. Currently, a holistically coordinated CO2 balance for the entire district is being developed, and the district has also been able to initiate various pilot projects on the topics of mobility, energy, industry, consumption, nutrition, construction and housing in cooperation with the association.

Climate neutrality and the resulting necessary transformation process of our society can only be achieved with the solidarity of all actors in the district. Therefore, every organisation is encouraged to join the association in order to face the challenges of climate change together.
