Village and regional development

Village and regional development

The village and regional development service has the task of maintaining and further developing the quality of life in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. Accordingly, the fields of action of the department are multifaceted, including not only the handling of funding programmes and competitions, but also topics such as the strengthening of voluntary work or the promotion of democracy and tolerance. As a central point of contact, the department is available to all those involved inside and outside the district administration.

Action programme "Women in local politics"

There are still far too few women deciding the fate of their municipality, town or district. The district wants to change this - and increase the proportion of women in local politics with the Municipal Action Programme.

Village development

In Hessen's largest district, villages and towns are attractive living spaces for the whole family, whose social, cultural and economic potential the district promotes. Projects can be financially supported within the framework of village development.

Regional development

Local action groups from the Waldeck-Frankenberg district are a strong driving force in regional development - and with the support of European funding they ensure the constant and sustainable further development of the region.

Our village has a future

"Our Village has a Future" is a nationwide competition that has been held in almost all federal states since 1959. It is intended to motivate people in the countryside to actively shape the future of their home - also in Waldeck-Frankenberg.

Voluntary commitment

Without voluntary "caretakers", no association work would be possible, associations and interest groups would not be able to work for the general public, or many a sensible project would have to be discontinued even before it was initiated.

Network for tolerance

The Network for Tolerance Waldeck-Frankenberg is dedicated to promoting tolerance and democracy in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district and working against racism, discrimination, intolerance and right-wing extremism.

Prevent extremism

The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is actively committed to promoting democracy and preventing extremism - and has set up a specialised office for this purpose, which also works closely with the district's network for tolerance.

Enable standing and playing leg (SuSe)

As we all know, you can't stand on one leg - that's why the district supports newcomers in building up a creative leg to play on in addition to a professional one.
