Mini vaccination centre in Korbach opens six days a week

Last week, vaccinations started in the mini-vaccination centres set up by the district and the practising medical profession - sometimes with long queues at the doors and limited vaccine. Starting next week, the supply quantities are expected to increase. For this reason, the district will open the centre in Korbach six days a week - from Monday to Saturday - starting on 6 December.

Vaccination without an appointment
People who want to be vaccinated can then come to the small Hauerhalle from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays without an appointment and get vaccinated. First, second and booster vaccinations are possible. Anyone whose basic vaccination was given six months ago can get a booster. Those who have been vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can receive a booster vaccination after four weeks. First and second vaccinations are also possible at any time.

Four days Moderna, two days BionTech
The two mRNA vaccines from Moderna and BionTech & Pfizer will be available for the vaccination. According to the STIKO recommendation, those under 30 and pregnant women should only receive the vaccine from Biontech. This vaccine is then administered on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Korbach Mini Vaccination Centre, mainly to people under 30 years of age and pregnant women. People over 30 are offered vaccination with Moderna in Korbach on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The vaccine from BionTech & Pfizer will probably be vaccinated in the mini-centres in Bad Arolsen, Bad Wildungen, Frankenberg and Sachsenhausen. It is generally not necessary to make an appointment in advance - at any of the mini vaccination centres. Please note that the mini-centre in Sachsenhausen has changed its opening hours: According to current planning, it will only be open on 4, 11 and 22 December.

No vaccine choice
First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese says: "We ask for your understanding that there is no vaccine choice. The district has made the most intensive efforts in recent weeks to obtain vaccine at all. Both vaccines - Moderna's and BionTech & Pfizer's are safe and protect against severe courses and deaths." District Administrator Dr Reinhard Kubat and the First District Commissioner call on those willing to be vaccinated to take advantage of the offer.

In addition to the mobile vaccination centre in Korbach, the other mini-vaccination centres in the district are open as follows: In Bad Arolsen, those willing to be vaccinated can come to the Bürgerhaus (Rathausstraße 3) on Wednesdays from 2 to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. In Sachsenhausen, vaccinations are possible on 4 and 11 December from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on 22 December from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the town hall at Werbaer Str. 5. In Frankenberg, vaccinations take place on Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the premises in the lower building of the Frankenberg district hospital in Forststraße 9a. Access is via the entrance at the helipad. In Bad Wildungen, vaccinations are offered on Wednesdays between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Breiter Hagen school (entrance Poststraße).

Have documents ready
Regardless of whether it is a first, second or third vaccination, the following documents should be brought to the vaccination: The health insurance card, an identity document and, if possible, the vaccination certificate. Those who have already been vaccinated should also have the documents of their first or second vaccination ready. In addition, the "Information sheet on vaccination against Covid-19 with mRNA vaccine" must be brought along. Furthermore, the "Medical history and consent form for vaccination against Covid-19 with mRNA vaccine" must be brought along. Both documents should be filled out completely. They can be downloaded from the district's website at www.landkreis-waldeck-frankenberg.de/impfen.
