Theatre Week Korbach hosts digital competitions
As was the case last year, the Corona pandemic is unfortunately throwing a spanner in the works of the Korbach Theatre Week: attendance events are not possible, performances and workshops cannot take place. However, together with the Förderverein Theaterwoche Korbach e.V., the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg as the organiser of Germany's oldest amateur theatre festival has come up with something to keep in touch with the theatre groups: Two digital participatory competitions.
This way, theatre lovers from near and far can relive the popular "Korbach feeling" and even win a prize. Creatively-bridging against the "sound of silence", the motto of the campaign, is under the patronage of District Administrator Dr. Reinhard Kubat, who welcomes the opportunity to raise awareness of the Theatre Week in this somewhat different way and to show that it not only still exists, but that it draws attention to itself with creative ideas. District Administrator Dr Kubat calls on all theatre groups, theatre lovers and other interested parties to participate in the competitions.
The presentation competition "My/our digital theatre experience 2021" is aimed at theatre groups and includes the creation of a film in mp4 format. On a maximum of 10 slides - compiled from beautiful photos - the current production of the group should be presented in 3 - 5 minutes, accompanied by public domain music. However, past productions or work with the Theatre Week Workshop theme 2021 are also possible. The deadline for submission is 26 March 2021. The best entry will receive a prize of 500 euros and there are three further prizes.
"Theatre, Theatre - Experiences and Experiences" is the name of the text competition in which individuals can submit contributions of any kind. On a maximum of two A4 pages, personal experiences with or special experiences during the theatre week should be described; personal experiences/experiences with theatre in general are also possible. Two categories will be judged: submissions by members of theatre groups and submissions by members of the Friends of the Korbach Theatre Week or other theatre lovers without a direct connection to a theatre group. Entries can be submitted until 30 April 2021. Here, too, there are cash prizes to be won, but also book gifts and a communicative meal.
