Youth work organises breakdance workshop in September

The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg participates at various levels in the action programme "Catching up with Corona". This is a programme of the Federal Early Help Foundation, funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. The aim is to enable children and young people to catch up in their social lives after the Corona pandemic. In this context, for example, the Early Intervention Department of the Youth Service organises parent cafés with reading activities in two municipal libraries. The sports and youth work department is now also offering a special event as part of the action programme: a break-dance workshop on 17 and 18 September for children and young people aged 11 and over. The workshop will take place in the large indoor gymnasium in Korbach.

In the two-day workshop, participants can practise hip hop and break dance. The professional artist Daniel Winterstein supports them, shows them cool moves, spectacular steps and much more that makes up the two dance styles. On the way to skilful hip-hopping or breakdancing, coordination and fitness are trained in a playful and easy way. Age-appropriate choreographies, games and exercises also improve the quality of movement.

The workshop is not about perfection, but about fun and the joy of dancing. Highlights will be dance games, disco and a dance battle where trophies will be awarded. Family members and friends are also welcome to attend the final show at the end of the workshop. Participation is free of charge. Registrations are open until 21 August 2022. For more information on the workshop, please contact the district's sports and youth work department at 05631 954-563 or e-mail julia.stracke@lkwafkb.de.
