Photo shoot to win: County organises competition

Civic engagement as a project forge - this was the motto of a competition launched last autumn by the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg and its coordination centre for civic engagement, which is part of the village and regional development department. Associations could apply with their activities and win an image video for their own public relations work. Five main prizes and two special prizes were awarded to associations as diverse as the Aktion für behinderte Menschen Waldeck-Frankenberg e. V., the Sportcoach-Team Diemelstadt or the mixed choir "Knapp Daneben" Korbach. Now the competition is to go into a second round: Volunteers can once again submit special activities and projects, and this time they can win two photo shoots for their social media work.

District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst explains: "The aim of the competition is to give the volunteer 'doers' in our district the opportunity to present their activities. Other volunteers should also be inspired to exchange ideas and support each other. No one needs to have too much respect for the necessary technology - the district provides various digital tools and media channels, which are used for the projects with specially prepared profiles.

Associations that are currently implementing projects or have drawn attention to themselves in the past with special activities are called upon to apply for the professional photo shoot. Applications can be submitted online between 1 and 31 July 2022 at www.landkreis-waldeck-frankenberg.de/projektschmiede. All that is required is to fill in a questionnaire describing the special action or project. On 13 October, the winners will receive their prize at a small ceremony hosted by District Administrator van der Horst.
