District seeks rental offers to accommodate protection seekers

Since the Russian attack on Ukraine, the Waldeck-Frankenberg district has been providing humanitarian aid to people fleeing the war region. For those seeking protection from Ukraine, furnished living space for rent is still being sought. The aim is to provide long-term accommodation in Waldeck-Frankenberg. Offers can be advertised online.

Advertise offers online
For this purpose, the district has set up an online platform on its website: All interested landlords who are willing to provide furnished living space for a longer period of time are asked to register there. With just a few clicks, the data is recorded online - and the housing is then arranged accordingly by the district. The data will not be passed on directly.

Furnished living space desirable
In this context, it would also be desirable to offer living space that is already furnished, so that people can move in quickly. Furthermore, the accommodation on offer should be self-contained. Renting out individual rooms within one's own living area is not envisaged.

Thanks for the wave of willingnessto help
"In the past few weeks we have received many offers of help - also from people in Waldeck-Frankenberg who wanted to take in protection seekers privately and have done so. We are very grateful for this wave of solidarity and willingness to help," says District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst. "In the current situation, however, it is now a matter of creating long-term prospects for the people here," adds First District Commissioner Karl-Friedrich Frese. For this reason, the search is now on for housing in which the people from Ukraine can live for a longer period of time. The costs for accommodation are reimbursed by the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg within the framework of the applicable regulations.
