Competition for volunteers: App and website to win

For the third time, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg and its Coordination Centre for Civic Engagement, which is part of the Village and Regional Development Department, are holding a competition for "Civic Engagement Projects". An image video and a photo shoot for the social media work of associations have been the prizes so far. Now, in 2023, the first prize is support in the creation of an association app with a subsidy of 500 euros for the running costs, and the second prize is support in the creation of a homepage.

District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst explains: "The aim of the competition is to give the volunteer 'doers' in our district the opportunity to present their activities. Other volunteers should also be inspired to exchange ideas and support each other. Associations that are currently implementing projects or have drawn attention to themselves in the past with special activities are called upon to apply for one of the two prizes. Applications can be submitted online between 15 and 30 May 2023. Different requirements apply for the first and second prizes; further information is available on the website www.ehrenamt-wafkb.de.

Background
The Coordination Centre for Civic Engagement Waldeck-Frankenberg is a project of the Village and Regional Development Department of the district administration. Under the title "Well coordinated!", support structures for volunteers in the district are created with the help of funding from the state of Hesse. The centre is one of eleven centres in Hesse that pursue the goal of strengthening voluntary engagement.
