Gift idea: Palaeo basket from the Geopark and direct marketers

District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst points out a very special gift idea with a regional connection: the so-called palaeo basket. "The Geopark GrenzWelten and our regional direct marketing have been able to realise the idea for the basket just in time before the Christmas business really gets going," praised the District Administrator. The paleo basket is now available from the Bangert speciality manufactory in Korbach-Meineringhausen by telephone or email at a price of 35 euros.

Many people are already familiar with the so-called paleo diet; for those who are not: It refers to a diet that focuses on foods that our ancestors ate in the Stone Age. This includes plant-based products such as lentils, dates and berries; animal products such as meat, honey and nuts are also in line with this diet.

The National Geopark GrenzWelten and Regionales Waldeck-Frankenberg are picking up on the diet trend with the new "Palaeo basket". A gift basket was designed in collaboration with the Bangert speciality manufactory. "Of course, you have to look at the contents in a figurative sense, because it also contains a delicious schnapps made from dates. Our ancestors certainly didn't have this luxury in the Stone Age," explains Kim Peis from the Geopark project office with a smile. In addition to the regional treats, the basket also contains an amazing gift from the Geopark: ice cube stones. These are simply placed in the freezer compartment and cool drinks without watering them down.

"In addition to the thematic reference, the main focus is on regionality," emphasises Dorothea Loth from Regionales Waldeck-Frankenberg, Specialist Service Agriculture. All products come from the region, which makes the basket not only a delicious but also a sustainable gift. The paleo basket is also available in a vegetarian version; wishes can be expressed by interested parties, allergies and intolerances can be addressed and the basket can be customised according to individual ideas or needs.
