District administration not available by telephone on 20 October

On the weekend of 20 to 22 October, the telephone system of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district will be changed over. All employees of the administrative offices will then receive new four-digit numbers. On Friday, 20 October, the district can therefore only be reached by e-mail, but not by telephone.

"Our number of employees has grown to over 1,000 in recent years. Our previous three-digit extensions are therefore no longer sufficient for the large number of employees," explains District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst. Therefore, the changeover to new four-digit numbers has become necessary. "In addition, we are modernising our entire technical system in the course of this. In the future, telephony will then only be controlled digitally."

New numbers for all employees
All employees of the district will also receive new numbers: In future, all employees - including those in the administrative offices in Frankenberg - will be reachable under the Korbach area code 05631- in combination with the number 954 and their four-digit personal extension. The previous three-digit personal extension number will also be supplemented by the number 1. Exceptions to this are some numbers of the transport department, which will be supplemented by a 2.

Some examples: If an employee was previously reachable under the number 06451 - 743 746, his new number will be 05631 - 954 1746. Or: The number 05631 - 954 338 will become the new number 05631 - 954 1338. However, the telephone number of the district's central switchboard will remain the same - and will continue to be 05631 - 954-0.

The district will not be reachable by phone on 20 October
The changeover of the system will start during the night of 20 October, which means that the employees of the district will not be reachable by phone for the entire day on Friday, 20 October. As usual, however, all staff can be contacted by email. All contact details are listed online.

According to plans, the work on the technology should be completed on the weekend of 21 and 22 October, so that all employees will be reachable by phone again on Monday, 23 October - under the new telephone numbers, which can then also be found online. The old telephone numbers will no longer be available from then on. However, a recorded announcement will inform about the changeover of the telephone system and the new availability.

Central control centre accessible withoutrestrictions
The central control centre in the Korbach district hall will not be affected in any way by the changeover of the telephone system. As always, it can be reached around the clock without any restrictions. Of course, the central emergency number 112 will remain the same. Nothing will change here.

Furthermore, the locations of the waste and disposal facilities in Waldeck-Frankenberg, the location on Lindenstraße in Bad Wildungen and the administrative offices at the shelters for refugees are excluded. Here, too, the changeover of the telephone system will have no effect.

Note: Citizens wishing to report an animal welfare case at the weekend can email the district veterinarian on duty at angela.knoche@lkwafkb.de.
