Information for teachers

Pupils need skills that enable them to participate successfully in the digitalised world. The Hessian state government is therefore going its own way to further improve digitally supported teaching and learning in Hessian schools and to make children and young people fit for the digital future: Building on the agreement between the federal and state governments, it has developed the "Digital School Hessen" programme to further support young people in the digital society.

In the coming years, the Waldeck-Frankenberg district will therefore equip more than 1,100 rooms with presentation technology such as interactive boards, beamers or displays with tablets as part of the digital pact. Around 600 classrooms will get new media pillars and the already existing media pillars will be upgraded to the latest standards.

End devices for teachers

The teachers received their tablets from the state of Hesse for this purpose. This is because the teachers are employees of the state. They were handed out to the teachers via the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg, which acted as a messenger. But: For maintenance and support, the installation of apps and all software questions, the technology service provider of the state of Hesse is the right contact.

Teacher training

Teachers need to know which digital media are available at their school and how they can use them in a pedagogically appropriate way and in terms of the intended teaching. For this purpose, there are regional as well as state-wide further training offers available that convey application possibilities, opportunities and challenges in the use of digital media and tools. The state of Hesse, as the employer of the teachers, is the right contact here. In parallel, the media centre of the district also offers some training courses.

Further training offered by the State Education Authority

As an employer of school teachers, the State Education Authority offers in-service training and consultation hours on various topics.
