Infection control

Infection control

One of the central tasks of the district's specialist health service is infection control in Waldeck-Frankenberg. One third of all diseases in Germany are infectious diseases. Efficient structures are necessary to prevent, detect, control and combat them.

Certain communicable diseases must be reported to the Waldeck-Frankenberg district according to the Infection Protection Act. In order to prevent the spread of the disease, investigations into possible sources of infection are then carried out immediately and measures are taken to prevent the further spread of the disease.

Various disease patterns must be reported - sometimes even the suspicion of them. In addition, the detection of certain pathogens must be reported, as well as the frequent occurrence of diseases, so-called outbreaks. Doctors, laboratories, kindergarten administrators, schools, nursing homes and alternative practitioners, among others, are obliged to report.
