Infection hygiene surveillance

The district health service is responsible for monitoring and advising on infectious diseases in the following areas

  • Medical facilities such as hospitals, outpatient surgery facilities, dialysis facilities, doctors' surgeries and dentists' surgeries.
  • Old people's and nursing homes
  • Schools, day care centres and other childcare facilities
  • Podiatrists, piercers and tattooists as well as non-medical practitioners and other establishments in accordance with § 36 of the Infection Protection Act.

The scope of duties for the above-mentioned facilities includes construction consultation for new construction and reconstruction measures as well as the preparation of statements within the framework of the building permit procedure. Another focus is the consultation and monitoring of hygiene-relevant work processes as well as the inspection of technical facilities in accordance with the generally recognised rules of technology and the RKI guideline.
