Cheese meets wine: District hosts tasting on 13 April

Cheese made from cow's, sheep's and goat's milk combined with exquisite wines: On Thursday, 13 April, at 7 pm, two universes of flavours and tastes will meet at the Marstall-Campfhof in Dalwigksthal. Under the motto "Cheese meets wine", anyone interested - for 34.50 euros per person - can take part in the approximately three-hour tasting organised by the specialist agricultural service.

The combination of cheese and wine is by no means problem-free when you consider that there are around 5000 different types of cheese and thousands of types of wine worldwide. The possible combinations are almost infinite. At the "Cheese Meets Wine" event, participants are told what to look for in the combination and how the different types of cheese are produced from the milk of cows, goats and sheep. Six farm cheese dairies and the Upländer Bauernmolkerei will present a total of 13 varieties of cheese for tasting.

Afterwards, the cheeses will be paired with exquisite wines from the southern Hesse winegrowing region from the Odenwald winegrowers' cooperative "Vinum autmundis" in Groß-Umstadt, selected by sommelier Marco Zanetti from Frankfurt am Main, who has become known under the start-up company "WINE GUYS". As places are limited, registration is required with Lea Brunst Tel. 05631 954 829 or e-mail lea.brunst@lkwafkb.de. Places will be allocated after receipt of registration.
