Enjoy regional flavours: District invites you to a vegetarian buffet

Waldeck-Frankenberg has an ever-growing selection of regionally produced and organic agricultural products from direct marketing farms. The district invites you to a vegetarian buffet of local specialities on 11 April in Ellershausen. Registration is possible until 2 April.

Vegetarian feasting
Under the motto "Regional enjoyment", all guests can look forward to a culinary experience of regional products - vegetarian. Vegetables, grains, potatoes and more are prepared by Brachts Wurstekammer from Basdorf to create a varied and tasty vegetarian buffet. Owner Carmen Höhle is a passionate cook and attaches great importance to the freshness and high quality of regional produce. The family business also specialises in direct marketing and runs a farm shop. Home-produced meat and sausage products are regularly offered at the weekly markets in Frankenberg, Sachsenhausen and Usseln.

Organic delicacies
The vegetarian buffet offers all kinds of delicacies such as turnip and turmeric soup with croutons, beetroot carpaccio with fresh goat's cheese, "Heimatbrot" bread with lentil spread, lentil noodles with mushroom sauce, basirella in chard, chickpea gyro skewers, Oven vegetables with potatoes, leek quiche, spinach quiche with feta, napkin dumplings with lentil bolognese, cauliflower and celeriac schnitzel, green sauce, bouillon potatoes, caramelised carrots, baby leaf salad, red cabbage salad with grapes, apple crumble and buttermilk dessert with rhubarb sauce. The food for the buffet comes mainly from various organic farms. All guests can look forward to the many different flavours that the meat-free buffet has to offer.

There will also be delicious drinks from Andrea Beranek's "Früchtegarten am Edersee", who will be offering her elderflower juice and rhubarb drink. There will also be white wine, beer and water. The evening will be accompanied by live music from Christoph Winzer from Korbach, who will play his acoustic guitar and sing sensitive versions of songs from the pop, folk and oldies genres. With the help of foot percussion, looper technology and differently tuned guitars, he creates a tapestry of sound that often suggests more than just one musician.

The event "Vegetarisch schlemmen" will take place on Thursday, 11 April at 6.30 pm in "Metzens Alter Kuhstall" in Frankenau- Ellershausen. The district's agricultural department cordially invites you to attend. The cost per person is 35 euros; drinks are not included and will be charged separately. If you would like to take part in this culinary highlight, please register by 2 April at the latest by calling 05631-954 1840 or sending an email to dorothea.loth@lkwafkb.de.
