Traffic space restriction - approval
Performance specification
Permission must be obtained for every measure that requires a restriction and special use of public traffic space.
If vehicle traffic is affected by the restriction of traffic space, a traffic authority order for the traffic protection of the traffic space restriction must generally be obtained in addition to the approval of the special use of the road space taken up. A traffic sign plan must be submitted to the road traffic authority for the road traffic authority order for the necessary traffic measures, unless there is a suitable regular plan, or the work is only of short duration and small scale of the work site, and the work has only an insignificant effect on road traffic. The safeguarding of work sites in road space is carried out according to the specifications of the Guidelines for the Safeguarding of Work Sites on Roads (RSA).
What are the fees?
Fees are charged for the approval of the special use and, if applicable, for the order of traffic control measures.
Legal basis
Who do I need to contact?
You usually submit your written application to the responsible road and civil engineering office in your district or city. They will also tell you which documents or evidence you need to submit in detail.
You should enquire in advance at the building or public order office of your local authority or city administration as to which authorisation jurisdiction your project falls under.
