    If you want to keep animals for others in a shelter or similar facility (e.g. animal boarding), you need a permit.

    For the granting of permission according to §11 Animal Welfare Act is required:

    • Request
    • Certificate of competence
    • police clearance certificate

  • What are the fees?

    Fees are charged according to

    • the general regulations on administrative costs, and
    • of the Administrative Costs Regulations for the Portfolio of the Ministry of the Environment, Energy, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

    Because of the exact amount, it is recommended to inquire at the responsible veterinary office.

Who do I need to contact?

Please contact the veterinary office of the district or city.
If the activity is to be carried out simultaneously at different branches, a separate licence from the veterinary office responsible for the branch location is required for each branch location.
