Performance specification
A ‘travelling stall’ is defined as a situation where you wish to temporarily sell goods or provide services from a fixed sales point outside your business premises and outside the context of a trade fair, exhibition or market.
You must register a hiking camp if you publicise it through a public announcement and if the participants’ travel to and from the camp is arranged either by transport services provided by you on a commercial basis or by persons acting in conjunction with you.
As the organiser of a hiking camp, you must ensure that the public announcement for the camp includes the following information:
- the type of goods or services sold as part of the travelling warehouse scheme,
- the location of the temporary camp,
- Your name, the address at which you are established, and details that enable us to contact you quickly and communicate with you directly, including a telephone number and an email address,
- information, presented in a clearly recognisable and legible form, setting out the conditions under which the consumer is entitled to a right of withdrawal in respect of contracts concluded within the framework of the travelling exhibition.
In the public announcement of a travelling camp, you must not advertise any free gifts in the form of goods or services, including competitions, prize draws and raffles.
You must not sell or act as an intermediary for the following services or goods in connection with a travelling camp:- Financial assets
- Insurance contracts and building society savings contracts, as well as consumer property loan agreements or corresponding forms of financial assistance provided for a fee,
- certain medical devices and food supplements.

You must give notice of the organisation of a hiking camp no later than 4 weeks before it begins, provided that the event is to be publicised through a public announcement and the participants’ travel to and from the camp is to be arranged by you as a commercial transport service or by persons acting in conjunction with you.
