    If you wish to trade in vertebrates, you require a licence from your competent veterinary office.

    Please note:
    When trading in species-protected animals, there is an additional obligation to register with proof of origin and an EC certificate with the regional council.

    Special information for - District of Waldeck-Frankenberg

    For the granting of permission according to §11 Animal Welfare Act is required:

    • Request
    • Certificate of competence
    • police clearance certificate
  • What are the fees?

    The

    • general rules on administrative costs; and
    • the administrative cost regulations for the portfolio of the Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

    Because of the exact amount, it is recommended to inquire at the responsible veterinary office.

    A separate platform has been developed for online applications. On the so-called service platform you can submit your applications electronically and much more! You are welcome to get your own impression of the application in advance without registering first. Use the simulation for this purpose. In order to be able to make full use of the online application, you must first register with the online application procedure.


Who do I need to contact?

The competent veterinary office of the district or city where you wish to carry out the activity.

If the activity is carried out simultaneously at different locations, a separate licence is required for each location.

If the activity is to be carried out at different locations, the veterinary office of the place where the company usually has its registered office or is registered as a business is responsible. Companies without a registered office in Germany should contact the veterinary office responsible for the place where the first activity is carried out.
