    The Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefstoffV) defines the employer's obligations when handling hazardous substances (including the duty to investigate, general duty to protect, duty to monitor, prioritisation of protective measures, preventive examinations).

    The risk assessment is a central component for deriving the necessary protective measures. The measures must correspond to the state of the art. Ergonomic relationships between the workplace, work equipment, work organisation, work processes and work tasks must be taken into account.
