Performance specification
The aim of the organic farming model region Waldeck-Frankenberg is to support or expand organic farming and organic and regional value creation in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. To this end, the following tasks are undertaken:
- Networking between agriculture, nature conservation and tourism, especially in the field of organic farming through events, information dissemination and mediation of contacts.
- Projects related to the processing of agricultural products and their regional marketing
- Supporting the development of value chains
Who is supported?
Actors in the organic regional value chains in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district, individuals and groups from organic farming, processing, nature conservation, trade, gastronomy and tourism.How is funding provided?
The Hessian organic farming model regions are part of the Organic Action Plan, the implementation of which is funded by the State of Hessen.A staff position for project coordination is funded, 75% of which is financed by the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. This person is provided with material resources for communication materials and for holding group meetings and networking events. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg, where the office is located, contributes the remaining 25 %. Financial support for farms or actors is not possible within the framework of the organic farming model regions.
Legal basis
The first Organic Action Plan in Hesse (duration 2014-2019) is a package of measures to promote organic farming and the direct/marketing of (organic) regional products, which was adopted by Agriculture Minister Priska Hinz in 2014 on the basis of the coalition agreement between the CDU and BÜNDNIS 90/ DIE GRÜNEN.
