Disposal of night storage heaters

  • Performance specification

Night storage heaters are subject to acceptance in accordance with the ElektroG. They can be handed in free of charge at the designated collection point in Flechtdorf.

However, since night storage heaters may contain weakly bound asbestos, chromium VI as well as PCBs, certain packaging and acceptance criteria must be complied with when handing them in, which are described in more detail below.

  • Requirements

    Acceptance requirements

Acceptance in accordance with § 9 (3) ElektroG is only from private households from Waldeck-Frankenberg and commercial end users in quantities customary for households. The acceptance quantity is limited to 3 appliances per deliverer.

Damaged or partially dismantled units are excluded from acceptance.

In the case of delivery by a competent specialist company on behalf of the waste owner, a written declaration by the actual waste producer must be provided in accordance with Appendix 1.

The delivery point for the Waldeck-Frankenberg district is the acceptance point at the Diemelsee-Flechtdorf landfill, Am Steinsberg 1, 34519 Diemelsee-Flechtdorf. Acceptance is by appointment only.

    Delivery and packaging regulations

The night storage heaters are to be sealed dust-tight with a strong textile adhesive tape at the ventilation slots. They are to be individually packed airtight in tear-proof PE foils with a minimum thickness of 0.15 mm or corresponding large-capacity bags. The film must be taped at the ends and at the corners.

The night storage heaters must be delivered secured on Euro pallets. The ventilation slots of the appliances on the pallet must always face upwards. The maximum pallet load of 1.5 t must not be exceeded.

The adjacent marking "Caution contains asbestos" must be affixed to the film in a clearly visible position.

The night storage heaters must be fully packed and lashed to the pallet with a tensioning strap (designed for the corresponding weight) (stretch film is not sufficient).

Deliveries must be announced at least two days in advance by telephone (between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.) to the district's waste advisory service in order to coordinate unloading.

We must reject deliveries that are not packaged according to the specifications. In addition, the regulations of the waste disposal statutes and TRGS 519 apply.
