Training for Volunteers

The State of Hesse’s training programme offers support for general training initiatives relating to cross-organisation topics and issues, such as board work, volunteer and organisation management, group leadership and other relevant topics. The aim of this funding is to provide training and facilitate networking amongst volunteers in local organisations and initiatives. For this reason, funding is also channelled throughout Hesse via 30 local contact points for civic engagement. These contact points launch and coordinate training projects for voluntary and civic engagement. Together with local clubs and initiatives, they identify needs and draw up a local training programme. The contact point in Waldeck-Frankenberg is the district’s specialist service for village and regional development, which works closely with the district adult education centre.

It bundles the work of committed actors around education and further education for adults. This includes general and vocational education, catching up on school-leaving qualifications, expanding knowledge and skills for shaping one's own life - for social, cultural and political participation. Hessencampi work in 21 towns and districts throughout the state and are oriented towards regional needs and specific framework conditions. The district offers a wide range of educational opportunities: basic school education, continuing vocational education or dual studies. Being a service provider and actor within a changing educational landscape describes the task of HESSENCAMPUS Waldeck-Frankenberg. Its educational offers are geared to the needs of committed actors from institutions, associations and initiatives in rural areas. All offers are free of charge.
