Women’s Café: Sharing experiences in difficult life situations
There are women for whom their own home is no longer a safe place – hidden from view by others. To provide a safe space for those affected by violence or stalking, the self-help contact centre for the Waldeck-Frankenberg district, in collaboration with the charity ‘Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. Waldeck-Frankenberg’, is launching the new ‘Women’s Café’.
Arrive, listen, find strength
This is intended to be a non-judgemental ‘safe space’ – a place where affected women can arrive, listen and find strength without feeling under pressure. The aim of the service is to reduce uncertainty and anxiety, alleviate feelings of shame, and convey that protection, setting boundaries and self-care are possible.
Self-confidence & Independence
The focus here is on the realisation that you are not alone in your experiences. Through community and mutual understanding, new self-confidence and independence are intended to grow step by step. With support, these meetings can also give rise to a long-term, supportive group.
Three sessions to start with
The programme will initially run over three sessions at the Self-Help Contact Centre within the Health Services Department at the Südring 3 administrative office in Korbach – on Friday 6 November from 10 am to 12 noon, on Wednesday 27 January 2027 from 3 pm to 5 pm and on Monday 8 March 2027 from 10 am to 12 noon. No prior registration is required.
