Help for women in emergency situations

Many private persons, volunteers and aid organisations offer help to women seeking protection with their children. Unfortunately, there are also people who want to take advantage of the need and put them in exploitative situations. The Women's Office of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district and numerous other organisations support women in emergency situations.

Basically:

  • Never give your passport and mobile phone to other people for safekeeping
  • Inform your families or friends where you are going or staying
  • Be sceptical if you are offered work immediately after arrival
  • Leave the accommodation or flat if you do not feel safe
  • Be sceptical when people ask you for money or push you to do something you don't want to do
  • Remember: Counselling and assistance in dealing with residence or social law issues are free of charge

In case of acute danger or suspicion, report to the police and dial 110!
