THEATERWOCHE: "Faust II"

THEATERWOCHE: "Faust II"
Own production of the Theaterschule Aachen together with rohestheater under the direction of Eckhard Debour.
The Faust II project by Theaterschule Aachen in cooperation with rohestheater attempts to stage and update the text, which we believe is difficult to perform, in a way that does justice to the actors. We have limited ourselves to the episodes "Capitalism at the Imperial Court", "Laboratory, a New Man?", "War, Domination and Destruction" and "Faust's End" and shortened the text considerably.
Goethe's Faust II is a journey through the centuries, from antiquity to the Middle Ages to the present day, which Faust, the epitome of modern, seemingly enlightened man, undertakes together with Mephistopheles and which Faust, in his hubris, leads to plunder and destruction.
The Theaterschule Aachen is a theatre school for acting, musicals and directing and is currently being rebuilt. rohestheater is cooperating and supporting it in the joint Faust II project. People between the ages of 17 and 51 perform on stage. The aim of the cooperation is to open up the school to interested amateurs in order to give the population of the Aachen city region an opportunity to take part in theatre.
