THEATERWOCHE: "Velvet before our eyes"

Own production of the Ensemble ARTIG of the Marienschule Münster under the direction of Christian Reick and Josephine Streil.

Put up resistance? Would often be good. For many, it is a necessity. But not everyone has to. Sure, whenever we are confronted with a new catastrophe via social media, waves of activism arise. But they die down again. As support with a limited half-life. A brief wake-up call - then we sink back onto the mattress. Better to put on the sleep mask. Look away.

In "Velvet before our eyes", the players deal with a situation that not only affects them, but us as a society as a whole: being torn between activism and lethargy. Between commitment and comfort. Many of us encounter grievances in our everyday lives that could be changed. Open your eyes or cover up? We have the choice.

Ensemble ARTIG is the label for theatre at Marienschule for grades 9 to Q2. Every year, the group puts on its own production. To avoid always following the same path, the group regularly draws inspiration from the local theatre scene in Münster. Although the group works with a director, it sees itself as a creative collective. The concept, text design, staging and play are the product of everyone.

Adults: 6 euros
Students, pupils, severely disabled persons, groups of 10 or more: 3 euros

Adults: 30 euros
