Veterans' Day 2026 - Vernissage

As a sign of gratitude for the achievements of veterans in Germany, the Bundestag has decided to introduce a national Veterans' Day in 2024 - to honour their commitment to peace, freedom, democracy and a strong society. In order to make this commitment visible at district level, the district council has decided to organise an annual central Veterans' Day event in Waldeck-Frankenberg. This year, it will take place in the Eder Valley - in the form of a two-week exhibition at the barrier wall on Lake Edersee with a vernissage on 21 June. The opening of the exhibition will take place at 2 pm. All further information can be found here.
