Supporting young talent
The ‘Become a Country Doctor’ initiative supports trainee doctors through structured programmes such as block placements, clinical placements and the joint training scheme in general practice. This programme for the next generation of doctors provides students and trainee doctors with practical support, from their first insights into the profession right through to becoming specialists, in order to ensure high-quality GP care in rural areas.
Block placement
In partnership with Philipps University of Marburg, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is offering block placements in academic teaching practices in North Hesse. What makes this scheme special is that the district covers accommodation and travel costs during this period. Registrations are now open.
Clinical placement
In the Waldeck-Frankenberg district, medical students can undertake their clinical placements or block placements at various doctors’ surgeries and clinics. There are also funding opportunities available for this.
