Edersee Wildlife Park Red deer, wolves, eagle owls, garden dormice and many more – a total of 21 different native species can be marvelled at and experienced at the Edersee Wildlife Park, a facility run by the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. The Edersee Wildlife Park covers an area of around 53 hectares. Since it was founded in 1970, the number of animal species has grown steadily. It all began with a total of 14 animals: fallow deer, wild boar and a mouflon. Today, just under 250 individual animals live in spacious, near-natural enclosures, and some can be experienced up close. The focus is on native and formerly native wild animals. Information boards, a bird display and educational programmes provide insights into the individual species. In the petting zoo, goats await young (and even older!) visitors.
