Performance specification
The public youth welfare agency has to ensure the protection of minors who are staying in a youth welfare facility unaccompanied by a guardian. The central instrument in the performance of this task is the granting of the operating permit. By making the operation of the youth welfare facility subject to permission by the supervisory authority, effective protection of the young people living there has been created. The reservation of permission is intended to ensure that the criteria relevant for the protection of minors are discussed and demanded in advance of the start of operation through counselling.
In the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg, 16 providers currently have their headquarters, 13 facility providers are based outside the district, but offer places in our district through family and youth residential groups. Currently, there are 518 places for young people requiring a permit in our district (as of 30.11.2019).
